  1. Continuous Financial Assistance for the National Trust Fund – Save the Children

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H.E. the president to launch a weekly lottery by the National Lotteries board on 11.11.2019 and to credit 10% of the market price of the same to Protect the Children Trust Fund.

  1. Amendment to Parliament (Powers and Privileges) Act No.21 of 1953

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented Hon. Prime Minister to gazette the bill prepared by the legal draftsman to amend Parliament (Powers and Privileges) Act No. 21 of 1953 and to get parliamentary approval consequently.

  1. Memorandum of Understanding between Geographical Research and Mines Bureau and Gio Science Australia Government Institute on Scientific and Technological Co-Operation.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment to enter in to a Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka and Australian Governments Scientific and Technological Co-operation.

  1. National Assessment on Food Security and the risk

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement and Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development and Youth Affairs to implement the National Food Safety and Risk Assessment Study and to establish a National Food Security Cluster.

  1. Economical Service Charges (Amendment) Act

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to gazette the amendment bill to revise the Economic Services Charges Act No 13 of 2006 and to present for the parliamentary approval.

  1. Amendments to Banks Act No. 30 of 1988

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the combined proposal presented by Hon. Prime Minister and Hon. Minister of Finance to amend the Order No.01 of 2007 issued under the Banks Act No 30 of 1988.

  1. Inland Revenue (Amendment) Act

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon Minister of Finance to Gazette the bill prepared to amend the Inland Revenue Act and present for parliamentary approval consequently.

  1. Agreements for Cooperation in Research on Chronic Kidney Disease/ Patients suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Etiology

The Cabinet of Ministers approve the proposal presented by Hon.Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to enter in to agreements with Australian Nuclear Science Technology Organization and US Stanford University to commence combined research on early detection of chronic kidney decease.

  1. Providing relief to fishery communities

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resourced Development to secure funds for providing relief to fishery communities whose nets and equipment were damaged due to fire occurred in the Month of June this year.

  1. Declaration of landslide Prone Areas in the Island and expansion of landslide risk assessment process in such areas.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Public Administration, Disaster Management and Livestock Development to name land slide prone areas in Monaragala, KUrunegala, Gampaha and Colombo Districts and to introduce Landslide Risk Assessment Process of National Building Research Organization.

  1. Parliamentary approval for the Gazette Notification under the Sri Lanka Export Development Act No 40 of 1979.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade to present the gazette notification issued for the removal of Cess Tax on importation of goods.

  1. Purchase of 300,000 Sterilized Hollow Fiber Polysulfone/ Polynephron Dialyzers for kidney patients.

The cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to purchase 300,000 Sterilized Hollow Fiber Polysulfone/ Polynephron Dialyzers for kidney patients from Nipro Asia Pte Ltd , Singapore for USD 1.35 million.

 

  1. Procurement for the supply of 55,000 dried factor vIII Fraction 200 IU – 350 IU Vials of Purified and detergent treated Concentrated Monoclonal

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award this procurement to Ms. Baxalta GmbH, Switzerland for USD 3.35 Million.

  1. Procurement for the supply of 620,000  Human Immunoglobulin ( IV ) Vials.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award this procurement to Ms.  Reliance Life Scince, India for USD 6.76 Million.

  1. Procurement for the purchase of 1,300,000 Film Laser Blue Base Dry CR, DR, CT and MRI Films

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award this procurement to Ms, Fujufilm Corporation, Japan for USD 1.89 Million.

  1. Consultancy Procurement for the  Development of Infrastructure under the Health System Improvement Project

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to award this procurement to Resources Development Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd .

 

  1. Development of Elpitiya and Balpitiya Base Hospitals

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to provide 9 story building for the Base Hospital Elpitiya and 10 Story Building for the Base Hospital Balapitiya.

  1. Construction of Small Scale Solar Power Stations under “   Surya Bala Sangramaya - Phase II”

 The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power Energy and Business Development to award contract for the construction and maintenance of Grid Substation Monaragala  to Gold Corporation Lanka (Pvt) Ltd.

  1. Contract for the supply and distribution of 1,300 km of Aerial Bundle cables

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power Energy and Business Development to award this contract to ACL Cables PLC for Rs. 789.45 Million

 

  1. Primary Substations, Distribution Substations and Cable Construction Contract  in Dehiwala Galkissa and Battaramulla Areas under National Transmission and Distribution Network Development and Efficiency Improvement Project

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power Energy and Business Development to award this contract to the joint venture of Siemens Limited, India and DIMO Pvt Ltd. in Sri Lanka for an amount equal to Rs. 4,594.43 million.

  1. Procurement for the maintenance of Lakvijaya Power Station in Puttalama.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power Energy and Business Development to award the contract of getting Skilled Labour Force for B Level maintenance of  Lakwijaya Power station Unit 1 to China Machinery Engineering Corporation for USD 3.84 Million.

  1. Spot Tender for the Purchase of Coal for Coal Power station Puttalam

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power Energy and Business Development to award the contract  of purchasing 240,000 MT of coal from M/s Adani Global Pte. Ltd.(for USD 67.39 each).

  1. Contract for the Long Term Supply of coal for Lakwijaya Power Station 900 MW.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Power Energy and Business Development to award the contract to supply 50% of total, 2.25 million MT coal requirement by Lakwijaya Power Station Norochchole to generate electricity from November 2019 to April 2020.

  1. Integrated Architectural Consultancy Services at proposed Disaster Risk Reduction Observing, Forecasting and communicating Centers under the Climate Resilience Mitigation Project

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development to award this contract to Design Group Five International (Pvt.) Ltd. for Rs. 63.43 million.

  1. Providing employment opportunities for Re-socialized and Rehabilitated persons under the Graduate Employment Scheme.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of National Policies, Economic Affairs, Resettlement & Rehabilitation, Northern Province Development & Youth Affairs to provide 20 persons who were re-socialized and rehabilitated under the Rehabilitation program and completed their degree, with appointments under the Graduate Employment Scheme.

  1. Reimbursement of training expenses of Grama Niladharis who have fulfilled their computer knowledge requirements

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Local Government to provide Rs.7000 allowance to Class III Grama Officers who have fulfilled their computer knowledge requirements within 3 years from the date of appointment.

  1. Implementation of Committee Recommendations providing relief to Media Persons who were subjected to harassment and persecution during 2005 to 2015 Period.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by H. E. the President upon the request of Non-Cabinet Minister of Mass Media to compensate 78 journalists who were subjected to harassment and persecution during 2005 – 2015 period.

  1. Emergency Purchase of Liquid Petroleum Gas

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Finance to purchase 12,000 MT of liquid petroleum as ad emergency procurement.

  1. Contract for the supply of Aviation Fuel to Sri Lankan Air Lines.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Finance to award the contract of supplying aviation fuel for Sri Lanka Air Line Aircrafts at 12 Airports worldwide.

  1. Introducing a home treatment method for kidney patients using Automated Peritoneal Dialysis Method

 The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Health Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine to implement the project of introducing a Home Dialysis System on a priority basis.

  1. Contract for the Phase II Constructions of New National School at Maguruoyawaththa

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by Hon. Minister of Education to award the contract for the constructions of the second Phase of Wishvoda New National School with Rs. 800 Million Investments.
