PUBLICATION BUREAU
During the colonial regime this unit was known as the ‘Government Record Office’. In 1950s it was maintained as an institution of Government Books and Papers. By the 1978 constitution the unit was renamed as ‘Government Publication Bureau’ and maintained up to now to provide public the access to state publications such as Acts and Bills, Government Gazette, Parliamentary debates, Sri Lanka Law Reports and the Constitution of Sri Lanka are the tasks of this Department.
