President Maithripala Sirisena will vest several development projects in the Elahera- Bakamuna area with the public today (4th Nov.), which have been completed under the ‘Pibidemu Polonnaruwa’ District Development Project.
These projects are the new three-storied building of Mahasen Maha Vidyalaya in Bakamuna, newly built District Secretariat in Elahera, new two-storied building at the Kottapitiya Junior School, and new building at the Mihidu Jayanthi Piriven in Aththanakadawala.
The three-storied building of Mahasen Maha Vidyalaya comprises of two Technical Units and eight classrooms and was constructed at a cost of Rs.16.8 million.
The two-storied building at Kottapitiya Junior School comprises of six classrooms and was constructed at a cost of Rs.8.4 million.
The new building at Mihidu Jayanthi Piriven in Aththanakadawala was built under the Government’s program to develop Piriven education of the country at a cost of Rs.9 million.
Meanwhile, a program will be held at the Pulatisi Buddhi Mandapaya in Polonnaruwa to distribute equipment for 1,000 self- employed persons in Elahera-Bakamuna area under the patronage of the President.
The government has allocated Rs.3, 500 million for the development projects being implemented and to be implemented in this area.
